These Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs are fast, foolproof, and perfect every time. They make a healthy, tasty breakfast or snack and are ready in just 4 minutes of pressure cooking.

Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs

I use my Instant Pot all the time, and making eggs this way is one of my favorite shortcuts. The method prevents overcooking, makes peeling easy, and is much quicker than stovetop methods. Once you try it, you may not go back to boiling eggs on the stove.

How to make Instant Pot Eggs

Place the rack or trivet in the bottom of the Instant Pot and add 1 cup of water. Arrange as many eggs as will fit — you can stack them in more than one layer if needed. I typically fit about 16 large eggs. Close the lid, set the valve to sealed, choose Manual (High Pressure), and set the cook time to 4 minutes.

When the timer finishes, immediately cancel and perform a quick release of the pressure. Do not let the eggs sit in the hot pot or they will continue to cook. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of cold water and let them cool for about 5 minutes.

Easiest Eggs to Peel

Peel the eggs while they are still warm — about 5 minutes of cooling is ideal. These eggs are technically steamed rather than boiled, which helps the shell separate cleanly from the white. The result is eggs that peel easily, often in large pieces, saving time and effort.

Storing Hard Boiled Eggs

These come out consistently well: yolks are creamy and fully set without any green ring. Eat them plain, season with salt and pepper, or use them in salads and recipes. Store peeled or unpeeled eggs in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

These eggs are perfect for snacking, egg salad, deviled eggs, or any recipe that calls for hard cooked eggs. The yolks stay vibrant and creamy, and the whites remain tender. You’ll appreciate how reliable and stress-free this method is.
