Giant Monster Burgers: Ultimate Guide to Oversized Burger Recipes

You are going to love this Monster Burger recipe—packed with flavor and fun. My family absolutely enjoyed it, even my pickiest eater!

Monster Burgers

Summer vacation has ended and my boys returned to school this week. With three different schedules at three different schools, our routine is definitely more complicated this year. Despite the busy mornings, the warm weather is sticking around, making it a perfect time for grilling.

We love turning burgers into playful creations, and my boys decided to build these Monster Burgers to share. They enjoy making spooky things all year, and these are especially great for a backyard cookout or a Halloween party. Not only are they visually fun, they taste wonderful too.

  • PREP: 10 Min
  • COOK: 10 Min

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup plain dry bread crumbs
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 2 lbs. ground beef or ground turkey
  • 8 hamburger buns

Directions:

  • In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, bread crumbs, and onion soup mix.
  • Stir the mixture into the ground meat and form into eight patties.
  • Grill or broil patties until cooked through. Serve on buns.

Decorating a Monster Burger

  • Sliced white cheese for teeth and facial features
  • Tiny pickles for ears or pupils
  • Olives for eyes
  • Tomato for tongue, horns, or other details
  • Sandwich pickles for tongues or scales

To create monster teeth, cut small triangles from sliced white cheese and attach them along the burger edge with ketchup. Slice a tomato into shapes for a tongue or horns, or use a sandwich pickle for a chunky tongue. Tiny pickles make great ears when secured with a toothpick. Use cheese rounds and olives for eyes and leftover cheese or veggie scraps to form noses or other features.

Let kids get creative and build their own unique monster faces—this is a fun, hands-on activity that encourages imagination while serving a tasty meal.
