A little over a week ago I was whisked off to New York City for a small event with Sandra Lee from Food Network’s Semi-Homemade. It was an incredible trip and I’ll be sharing more from it this week. I spent a few hours exploring Manhattan with Denise from Creative Kitchen Adventures and Kristen from Dine and Dish. We had a blast — I’ll share those stories and photos later.
I can’t take credit for this drink. It was served at the event and Sandra rattled off the recipe while I scribbled it down because it was so delicious. There aren’t exact measurements listed here on purpose — the recipe is a guideline so you can tweak it to your taste.

5 minutes
This strawberry daiquiri comes from Food Network’s Sandra Lee — bright, fruity, and easy to adjust to your preferred sweetness and strength.
Ingredients
- 3/4 part vodka
- 2 parts orange juice
- 1/4 part gin
- Dash of cognac
- Fresh lime juice, to taste
- Strawberries, blended (fresh or frozen)
- Simple syrup, to taste*
Instructions
- Combine the vodka, orange juice, gin, cognac, lime juice, and blended strawberries in a large pitcher. Stir well and taste.
- Adjust sweetness with simple syrup until you reach the desired balance.
- Serve over ice or blend with ice for a frozen daiquiri. Garnish with a strawberry or lime wedge if desired.
- To make simple syrup: combine equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves, then cool before using (about 5 minutes).
